We have become aware of the fatal accident in Poland involving the Profi TL wing serial #031.10, with one person killed and one person badly injured. The investigation is going on and the conclusions are to be drawn yet, but there are reasons to suspect that the fatality was caused by the failure of the shackle, see our Safety Directive-014. The wing in question was listed in the Directive, but, to our deep regret, this did not help to prevent the accident in Poland.
As we all know, neither publications at the website nor information sent to dealers can guarantee that 100% pilots are informed and that mandatory replacement takes place on every single wing concerned. Please, help us with this. If you know anyone owning or flying an Aeros wing that may be affected by the Safety Safety Directive-014, we request you to convey this information to the wing owner/pilot.
ALL WINGS LISTED IN THE SAFETY DIRECTIVE-014 HAVE TO BE GROUNDED AND THE SHACKLE HAS TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE NEXT FLIGHT, if this hasn't been done till now.
In case of any doubt, please, contact your local Aeros distributor and/or Aeros.
Have safe flights. Aeros team
